The Norwegian Forest Cat is a 'natural' breed, which means that it has evolved over time through natural selection and not through human-led breeding programs. He has thus adapted to meet the requirements of his Scandinavian countries. It has very dense and waterproof fur to protect it from the extreme weather conditions that often prevail in these northern regions. This fur, its broad and muscular body and its very full tail, swinging slowly from side to side, give it that "wild" aspect so appreciated by cat owners.
