Aurelie & Christophe

Our common passion for animals linked us in 1993 to the dog school near Lyon. Since then, we have built our dream together:

the Bories of Yakoubia.

We bred for a few years Yugoslavian shepherds and Labradors Retrievers. The passion for the Labrador began when I was 12, I dreamed of having my very first dog, so I convinced my brother and my sister to participate in the purchase of my very first Labrador, Garbo, in exchange that at his first litter, I could repay them.

In 1992, Christophe and I studied in an agricultural high school in Cibeins near Lyon. The school had an educational kennel, each had his companion. For Christophe it was a Labrador named Greenda, for me too, it was called Capri. One year more late, Greenda suffering from dysplasia had to be reformed. My dad for alleviate our sorrow decided welcome him  in our home.

In parallel with my studies in 1999, I really started breeding. First in Saint-Gervais des Sablons in the Orne with my parents, Christophe was at that time military and very often on mission abroad. We moved in 2007 to Camembert in the Orne.

The breeding is then at this stage, only a barn and a field.

My passion, my desire and my devotion, were born during my numerous internships in various dog farms. During my last year of studies, my internship supervisor sent me his Yugoslav shepherd breeding, en thanks  I decide to keep his affix.

Why Les Bories de Yakoubia? une Borie  is a small shepherd's house, hence our way of raising, a chalet in the middle of nature. But he  is also the anagram of Yugoslav shepherd (up to 3 letters!)

Some would say it was luck, others would say it was hard work. For us,it was, is and always will be a passion.

WHY THESE BREEDS AMONG THE BORIES?

Labrador, you will understand, was obvious!

Madame Piat, Cairn Terrier breeder, and internship supervisor during my internships at Coulommiers, passed on to me his passion forthe Cairn Terrier.

Since the beginning of my studies, and before meeting Christophe, I have always been in love withWelsh Corgi Pembroke, at that time, very little presentin France but famous en England! Witicoeur, our first Corgi, will become our favorite dog as well as for our children.

In 2016, our daughter came across a youngWhippet Greyhoundseven-month-old "Aramis", who completely captivated the whole family with her sweetness and sensitivity. Then followed, Lady Marmelade, our little one chubby,  which greatly helped our son Ilyes, who has ADHD. It allowed him to control his emotions, to channel his temper, but above all to soothe him day and night. Today she is his faithful confidante, but also the beginning of our love for the Whippet.

AND THE CATS OF THE NORWEGIAN FORESTS?

In 2006, Christophe was on a mission au Kosovo. Our daughters suffer from his absence. Dogs don't fill the void he left, I thought maybe a new animal could help them. This is how Kafor, notre Norwegian enters our lives. Why this name, will you tell me? It is following the package sent by their dad containing this little teddy bear, bearing the message "KFOR" meaning  "Force for Kosovo", so we decided that this first cat would be named KAFOR .
